Editor's note: A jury found Daniel Bocelle not guilty in 2001 of all charges related to injuries suffered by his 3-year-old daughter.
FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A Fort Bragg soldier and his wife are behind bars, charged with beating their 3-year-old girl.
Daniel and Danita Bocelle are each charged with two counts of felony child abuse.
Investigators say doctors discovered the abuse when the child was taken to the hospital for seizures.
"The injuries appeared to be discoloration of the skin, some bruising around the face and neck area and some severe bruising around the backside," says Lt. Gene Hallock of the Fayetteville Police Department.
The 3-year-old girl is hospitalized at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
