MOORE COUNTY — Some Moore County residents are getting together to clean up an illegal dump site they call the "lost city."
For decades, all kinds of trash has been dumped in an area between Southern Pines and Pinehurst.
Residents have tried to catch the people dumping the trash, but they just cannot keep up with them.
Tuesday night, they got together to decide how best to clean up the area and keep it clean.
Residents agreed to form a committee, and they will ask county and state leaders for help in the cleanup effort.
