RALEIGH — It is one of those days when a penny is worth more than a one cent. A change inpostal ratescould mean the difference between your bills getting delivered or not.
Rates for mailing letters officially jumped to 34 cents Sunday, creating a real stampede for one cent stamps.
For those willing to wait, sheets of one cent stamps and the new 34 cent stamps are in abundant supply.
The U.S. Postal Service printed one billion of the one cent stamps. to help all those people who still have a lot of the old 33 cent stamps.
