RALEIGH — A prison escapee is back behind bars after stealing a state Department of Transportation truck Thursday.
Police say Donyell Williams was left alone in the truck with the engine running during a lunch stop with his work crew supervisor.
Williams was spotted by Durham Police officers near Alston Avenue late Thursday night. He tried to run, but he was captured.
Williams is now at Central Prison in Raleigh.
