FRANKLIN COUNTY, N.C. — A Franklin County man accused of raping a 6-year-old girl is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
David Alan Brown, 44, was arrested Jan. 13 and charged with first-degree rape of a child.
Investigators said the alleged assault happened at Brown's home, while his wife -- the girl's grandmother -- was ill and staying in a nursing home.
According to authorities, the girl reported the rape allegation to her mother on Jan. 12 and Brown was arrested the next day.
Brown is currently in the Franklin County Jail.
