Belongings Of Missing Lee County Woman Found

e-mail print friendly

The focus of the investigation into a Lee County woman's disappearance has led authorities to Cumberland County, where some of her personal belongings were found.

Investigators say three weeks ago on Jan. 2, a masked gunman kidnapped Michelle Bullard, 23, from a Lee County home, where she was staying with friends.

Since then, volunteers and law enforcement officers alike have scoured both Lee and Harnett counties looking for Bullard, but exhaustive searches have led to very little clues.

Authorities say that on Friday, however, a man found a woman's wallet -- with Bullard's identification card inside -- in a ditch 50 miles from where she disappeared.

Investigators have questioned the man and say he is not a suspect.

The area where the wallet was found is a very swampy area, surrounded by small ponds. On Monday, dive teams will be brought in to see if they can find any more clues.

Anyone with information that may help solve the case is urged to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at (910) 323-1500.
