NASHVILLE — WRAL-TV 5 picked up nine Emmy Awards Saturday evening in Nashville for excellence in journalism.
The Cape Lightdocumentary, this past summer'scoverage of the Special Olympics World Games, theFacing Race campaignand the teen programcentralxpress.com, among others, were honored with gold statues. WRAL's sports department was also honored with an Emmy.
Jim Goodmon, president and CEO ofCapitol Broadcasting Company, Inc., WRAL's parent company. was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
