HENDERSON — A dog made a grim discovery in the community of Graystone, 6 miles north of Henderson: bones.
The bones were found off US 1-Business. The location was about 3 miles from where a car was found that belonged to a woman who disappeared four months ago.
There are suspicions that the discovery may be connected to that mystery but so far law officers say they are not jumping to any conclusions..
Angie Marie Griffin, 24, dropped her baby off with a sitter in mid-October, saying she would return in 90 minutes. No one has seen or heard from her since then.
Her Honda Accord was subsequently found parked in front of a convenience store the next day.
Deputies searched the remote area where the dog found the bones and found, what Sheriff Thomas Breedlove says is, "a large amount of bones." Breedlove says a medical examiner will work to determine if the bones are human.
A relative of Griffin says the sheriff contacted the family requesting Griffin's dental records.
Breedlove says at this point, it is just too early to tell what they are dealing with and whether the bones are even human.
