RALEIGH — Roads are posing a serious danger on Monday. The melting and refreezing of roadways is catching people by surprise. Police spent Monday night going from accident to accident.
Numerous accidents occurred on Raleigh's Outer Beltline between Wade Avenue and Hillsborough Street around 10 p.m. Monday. Police reported five accidents involving eight vehicles. Authorities have attributed the accidents to the ice on the roadways.
Durham officials say Interstate 147 has been dangerous to drive. Five accidents were reported on the roadway in six hours.
Cary authorities reported a multi-car pileup on the Cary Parkway.
Authorities are asking motorists to stay off the roads and be careful driving until the ice is no longer a danger. -->
