RALEIGH — Hockey players are the kings of the ice, but it seems the record snowfall in the Triangle was even enough to keep them at home.
The Carolina Hurricanes postponed Tuesday night's game against the Phoenix Coyotes at Raleigh's Entertainment and Sports Arena.
Hurricanes General Manager Jim Rutherford said he could not ignore Governor Hunt's state of emergency declaration.
However, the All-Star hockey game at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville did take place.
There is also a change of schedule regarding two ACC basketball games originally scheduled for Wednesday night.
UNC vs. Maryland and N.C. State's trip to Clemson have been moved to Thursday at 7 p.m.
