RALEIGH — Schoolchildren around the Triangle will have a special lesson this year: there is a price to be paid for everything, including school closings due to snow.
School districts have announced their makeup days.
In Wake County, kids will be in class Feb. 21, March 20 and March 21. Feb. 22 already had been designated a makeup day, for Hurricane Floyd.
Durham County schools will use Feb. 17, Feb. 18 and March 14. Feb. 21 is a makeup day because of Hurricane Floyd.
Chapel Hill-Carrboro schools will use April 3 and May 29 as makeup days. Feb. 22 is also a makeup day, due to Floyd.
Chatham, Johnston and Orange Counties have not yet announced their makeup days.
For the most part, these designated days had been teacher workdays, when classes are not held.
