e-mail print friendly

Wake County authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a building early Saturday morning.

The two-story garage apartment at 3300 Mid Pines Road was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived at the scene around 5:30 a.m.

There were also reports that an area of woods behind the house also caught fire.

As firefighters put out the fire, there had been some concern that a person known to live there was accounted for. Investigators, however, report no fatalities.

The structure is reportedly a total loss.
