Federal Money To Be Used To Make Railroad Crossings Safer

RALEIGH — Several dangerous railroad crossings in the Triangle will soon be made safer.

The scene of a deadly crash at the intersection of Hillsborough and Trinity in Raleigh will be improved along with six other gated crossings in the area.

Federal money will pay for more barricades.

Raleigh'sBashford Road crossing, where six people have died in recent years, is set to be closed and replaced by an access road.
