GARNER — Garner police are looking for a man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend in a church parking lot.
Police say the suspect, 45-year-old Arthur Winstead, attacked the woman at Freedom Temple of Deliverance on West Garner Road. He allegedly threw the woman's child to the ground before stabbing her four times in the shoulder. He got away in the woman's car.
Police are looking for a 1998 cream Nissan Maxima. Anyone with information should call the Garner Police Department.
Winstead is facing charges of armed robbery, felony larceny and misdemeanor assault on a child. Further charges are pending.
The unidentified victim is being treated at Wake Med and was expected to be released Sunday evening. The child is okay.
