Body Found On Mason Farm Road In Chapel Hill

CHAPEL HILL — Chapel Hill police are investigating what could be the first murder of the year.

A construction worker found a body at the county waste water treatment plant on Mason Farm Road on Saturday.

The victim was shot twice in the head. Police have not found a gun.

Police believe the body was placed at the construction site recently, possibly Friday night.

The victim was described as a white male between 18 and 25 years of age, about 5'10", weighing 200 pounds, with short black hair and goatee,

He was wearing a gray ECKO sweatshirt with a hood, a dark baseball cap, black cargo pants and white Nike sneakers. He had earrings in both ears.

The body was taken to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the victim, as well as for any information concerning the investigation. -->
