RALEIGH — If you're one of the thousands of Triangle commuters frustrated with the construction delays on the Outer Beltline, relief is here.

The N.C. Department of Transportation says the bridge work over Atlantic Avenue is finished. Engineers say all four lanes of the Outer Loop between Capital Boulevard and Wake Forest Road will be open tomorrow morning at 6. Work started October 15. Working around the clock, crews finished three weeks ahead of schedule.

OnJune 28, a trash truck slammed into the support beams under the bridge. The structure gradually weakened and needed repair.

Fixing the structure was a big headache for the 100,000 drivers who use that section of the Beltline every day.
