— One person was reported critically injured Wednesday night and Raeford Road was closed after a pickup truck apparently went out of control, snapped a utility pole and crashed into cars at a car dealership, police said.

The truck apparently was speeding on Raeford Road before the crash, city police said.

One man was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in critical condition, officers reported. No other information about the man was available.

The parked cars were at the Bleecker Superstore used-car dealership.

Fayetteville has 5 times as many people as Cary. Either way, you're right, people cannot drive down here. And for those wondering, that's not W. Randy Baxley.

    smurace -at- aol -dot- com,

You really think that the reduced numbers of crashes in Cary is because they are more uppity?

I currently know the victim involved in this accident through my boyfriend. My condolences go out to the man and his family. May we keep all of thoughs in our prayers whether we or another is involved in something like this.

The problem is that people drive like animals here in Fayetteville. The aggressive driving here is almost unbearable. When should the police really put some effort into their traffic enforcement division? The number and frequency of crashes makes me believe that the local pd does not care about the way people drive. Just think back a few months ago to the horrific accident on riley and fillyaw, then the folling week another fatal crash. I think its time for action.

Cary has fewer crashes but the people are more uppity than Fayetteville. You have to pick the lesser of two evils. I'd rather crash in Fayetteville than drive in Cary. Thats just my opinion

Fayetteville had 5 times the crashes that Cary did last year. People really got a problem driving down there.
