At 6 p.m., the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters telethon raised $1,977,765 when it went off the air, but pledges were still being accepted afterward.

In Raleigh Sunday, lots of "steps" were also taken today to help flood victims.
The annual CropWalk wound its way through Raleigh with more than 14,000 participants. The event usually raises money to fight hunger, but this year's walk took on a new meaning with so many families struggling to recovery from the flooding in the state..
"Because of the devestation in the eastern part of the state, makes us more aware of the needs of other people -- people who are less fortunate," said Scott Dickerson, a participant in the race.
This year, CropWalk expected to raise $60,000 to help feed the hungry. Seventy-five percent of the proceeds from this year's CropWalk will go to flood victims.
