FAYETTEVILLE — More than 20 families in Fayetteville are homeless Saturday morning after an apartment complex went up in flames.

The fire started just after midnight at the Highland Apartments and spread quickly.

Firefighters contained the flames, but say hot spots are still popping up.

No one was injured.

The American Red Cross put the families in a hotel for the night and gave them meal vouchers.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
