Richardson is all Big East conference in basketball, volleyball and track. No matter which sport she is playing, she says the team is the most important thing.
"Sixteen can do more than one person can. There is a whole lot of power when you have a group who is unified instead of having one person go out there and say, 'I am going to do this and that,'" she says. "Nobody can win a game like that."
Pamela Gainey, Richardson's coach, says she has the determination to succeed in whatever she does in life.
"She gives 100 percent every game. Even on days when she feels ill, regardless of what has happened or what is going on, she plays as hard as anyone I have ever seen," she says.
Teacher Andrea Zacker says Richardson, an honor student and president of the senior class, is a leader in every way.
"She is one of the kids who makes a difference and turns it into one group, and I think that is what she does on the team as well," she says. "Even though she is an incredible athlete and an exceptional student, she is far better than just a very good student."
