DURHAM — Everyone knows that yellow tree pollen is everywhere. If you think keeping your own car clean is tough, imagine taking care of more than 400 of them.
Car dealerships are having a hard time keeping their lots free of the yellow stuff. However, car washes are not complaining this time of year because their business is booming.
"We'll take five months of pollen. If we could get it, we'll take it," says Victor Wallace of Durham Ritz Car Wash.
At Duke Gardens, the pollen is keeping workers busy cleaning up, but the payoff can be seen. Visitors can enjoy the dogwoods and red buds in full bloom.
