Blue Devils Arrive In Minneapolis For Final Four

Posted Updated

DURHAM — The Duke Blue Devils are in Minneapolis ready for Final Four fever.

The team received a warm sendoff at Cameron Indoor Stadium from die-hard fans who braved the rain and chilly temperatures.

The Blue Devils practiced for awhile Thursday morning before boarding the bus and heading for the airport.

This is Coach Mike Krzyzewski's ninth trip to the Final Four.

Duke won the NCAA championship in Minneapolis in 1992. The fans who turned out for Thursday's impromptu pep rally are convinced this year's team can bring home another national title. They will have to defeat ACC rival Maryland first.

If they advance to the championship game, Duke will face either Arizona or defending champion Michigan State.

Duke Mayor Nick Tennyson is betting dinner with his counterpart in College Park. If Duke wins, Tennyson gets a bushel of fresh striped Maryland striped bass.

If Maryland wins, Tennyson gives up a five-pound bucket of barbecue.
