FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville's Airborne and Special Operations Museum is having a rough financial landing.
The $22 million museum is nearly $500,000 in debt. Museum leaders blame the debt on higher-than-expected construction costs and defaulted pledges. The museum must also pay back a $4.5 million loan to the city over the next five years.
A fund-raising drive is planned to come up with the money. Some of the details will be announced next week.
