Restaurant Owned by Marc Basnight Catches Fire

Authorities said a restaurant owned by Marc Basnight, president pro tem of the state Senate, suffered extensive damage in an overnight fire.

According to authorities in Nags Head, the fire started at around 1 a.m. Tuesday at Basnight's Lone Cedar Cafe. The cause of the firewas unknown.

Investigators said no one was inside when the fire broke out, and no one was hurt as firefighters from Nags Head and nine other departments fought it.

Officials said damage at the restaurant is estimated to exceed $1 million.

I couldn't wait to try the food. Mr. Basnight and I may not share politics but he is a very nice man and I hear the food was very good. May they rebuild quickly!!

Stormy13 - whatever! You can say what you want but guess what, honey? It takes money to get into politics in the first place so think what you want. That's right... you ARE just jealous!

Persoally I prefer Burger-King-- I can have it my way there and it is a lot cheaper.
