RALEIGH — A dangerous rail crossing is at the center of a lawsuit against CSX Railroad.
Robert Burt diedDecember 14when the car he was riding in was struck by an Amtrak train at the Bashford Road crossing. Passenger Jasper Williams was also killed.
The lawsuit contends CSX knew the crossing was dangerous in 1996, but decided to keep it open. Six people have died at the crossing since 1991.
