FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville police have made an arrest in Friday's bizarre chase and shooting along Highway 301.
Glenda Jones was charged Saturday with shooting into another car and causing the accident that killed Frankie Bain, 26.
Police say that Bain ran into a man at the DMV who had shot him in October 1999. As Bain went to get help to have him arrested, the man took off in his car.
Bain got in his car and followed. Detectives say the men were shooting at each other while driving down Highway 301. The vehicles apparently collided, sending Bain's car off the road.
Bain was thrown from the car and died at the scene. Four others were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where they were treated and released.
