— Wilson County authorities are trying to identify the body of a man found in a creek.

An off-duty sergeant with the state Highway Patrol found the victim while fishing with his family. The remains will be sent to Pitt Memorial Hospital for an autopsy.

The Wilson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case as a homicide.

Authorities released a picture in an attempt to identify the person and locate his relatives. The photo is from a Mexican driver's license found on the body. Authorities said they believe the license belongs to the man but that the name on the driver's license is false.

Anyone with any information about the case is asked to call the Wilson County Sheriff's Office at 252-237-2118.

Sometimes it would be best not to even carry a story than to carry it with such a dearth of information. When vital information isn't included in the story, especially when that inforamtion was readily available and used by other outlets, it does nothing but engender conjecture and cause needless anxiety by those who may be missing a loved one.

Well, WRAL should use Wilson Daily Times article as thier story. WDT has a very detailed report. They offer a lot more information than WRAl.

They say the man was shot multiple times, and they believe he may have been in the creek since Friday. Some people fishing in the creek discovered the body and called deputies.

It said a MEXICAN drivers license. So why would he lie on that about who he is? If it was a us license then odds are good it isn't the correct info.
