RALEIGH — Police are searching for a convict who escaped Wednesday afternoon.
Earl Goode Jr. escaped while being transferred from Northampton County to Central Prison. He somehow slipped one of his hands out of his handcuffs and jumped out of the vehicle.
The escape took place near the intersection of New Bern Avenue and Raleigh Boulevard.
Goode was sentenced to 15 years in prison for burglary, kidnapping and armed robbery.
