CARY — Police say illegal drugs may be linked to the death of a Cary woman.
Investigators searched the Preston home where 37-year-old Trudie Peek was found dead in her bathtub early Saturday morning and say it appears the victim and her boyfriend had taken two drugs, Ecstasy and GHB.
Police say Peek, an aerobics instructor at Gold's Gym in Cary, was with her boyfriend and another friend on the night she died. Both men are pilots for Midway Airlines. Midway says it will wait for the outcome of the investigation before it makes any decisions on the permanent status of the pilots.
