CHAPEL HILL — All four chess pieces that were taken last week from an oversized set at the North Carolina Botanical Gardens have been returned.
The two kings and queens that were removed were found Friday morning in the visitors parking lot, unharmed.
Botanical Gardens staff discovered the one-of-a-kind pieces when they arrived at work.
Police still do not have any suspects in this case, but the investigation is continuing.
