2 Suspected in Durham Shooting

Posted April 28, 2007

— Durham police think more than one person was responsible for a shooting that left a Durham man critically wounded.

Investigators said Travis Lamont Bolden, 26, was shot in the abdomen during a disturbance in the parking lot of Baycreek Apartments at 1309 Hudson Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday.

The shooting occurred in a parking lot near Buchanan Boulevard. At least one vehicle was damaged by gunfire.

Friends took Bolden to Durham Regional Hospital, but he was later transferred to Duke University Hospital for treatment. He was in critical condition Saturday morning.

Investigators have no descriptions of the shooting at this time but ask that anyone with information to contact Durham police at 919-560-4440, ext. 274, or CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200.

The "liberal Northeast" does have a lesser crime rate. Ok, Now check your stats for the average household income. Why steal when you drive a jaguar.

I've noticed you've introduced this theme in a few other articles as well. A few points:

First, why did you not mention that the conservative West North Central region has almost as low a homicide rate as the liberal New England region? Or that the Mountain region also used to enjoy such a low homicide rate?

Second, are you being naive or disingenuous by not taking into account the demographic differences between the regions other than political?

Perhaps, you need to examine the top ten wanted lists of the municipal police and sheriff's offices in the area to determine WHO is actually committing the bulk of the homicides?

Finally, if that doesn't work, take a look at the BOJ statistics a little more closely. It's EASY to be a liberal when you are removed from the dangerous elements of society.

where are al sharpton and jesse jackson and the new black panthers and victoria peterson and jackie wagstaff when young black males are slaughtering each other? they're over there by the cameras and microphones accusing and prejudging white lacrosse players.

starting to see the problem now and why it will never be solved?

Raleigh's rate of murder is just below that of New York City [murders per 100,000 population], and Raleigh's rate of rape, larceny, assault, car thefts and burglary are significantly higher than NYC.

42% of violent crimes in the US occur in the South, and 43% of murders in the US occur in the South, according to the FBI's web site.

Sounds like the problem exists across the entire region.

Folks in the South mock the liberal Northeast, but crime in the South is an embarassment.
