Confiscated Marijuana Vanishes from Chatham Sheriff's Office

PITTSBORO, N.C. — The Chatham County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft of drugs from its own office

Deputies confiscated tons of marijuana during a

drug bust in Siler City in February of 2000.

Now, 3,000 pounds of that evidence is missing.

The

FBI

has been called in to investigate. The sheriff says his office is cooperating.
