CARY — A pregnant Southern Pines woman is glad she and her infant son did not have to go to the hospital following a crash.

Rebekah Sykes' Jeep landed in a ditch alongside U.S. 1 and Highway 64 northbound in Cary. Police say she got there after a logging truck cut her off and forced her off the road.

"It is upsetting, but you know everybody's on their own," she says. "I was upset about it just because we could have been so hurt. He didn't care enough to stop."

Sykes did not have a detailed description of the logging truck. She could only say it had a white cab and a red trailer. Cary police say they doubt they can catch the driver without more information.
