Cary Town Council Votes on Water, Building Plans

CARY — TheTown of Carynow has a plan to deal with its water shortage. Thursday night, the town council voted to allow 750 new residential building permits over the next two years. That number will increase to 1,000 in the third year.

Developers will also be allowed to build 400 apartments each year over the next three years and gave the thumbs up to commercial development.

The current building moratorium was put in place while town leaders found ways to conserve water. The moratorium will end September 1.
