More than 20,000 fans packed into theAlltel Pavilionto see one of the biggest concerts of the year on one of the hottest nights of the year.
When they stepped on stage, the crowd roared. The Dave Matthews Band is one of the hottest acts in the country right now.
The heat is not just coming from the crowd. Even after the sun goes down, the temperatures hover around 96 degrees. The heat index is around 105; it is almost impossible to keep cool.
"I'm not keeping cool," a fan said. "I'm sweating. I'm fat, and I'm sweating."
Fans helped the fans bear the extreme conditions.
"What I'm doing to keep cool is drinking cold beer," another fan said. "I'm also running though the sprinkler system."
Some fans took extreme measures to keep cool, such as taking showers in the mist tent. Wearing as little as possible, the enthusiastic fans kept the water flowing and the air moving to get through the three-hour concert.
No heat-related problems were reported.
