Army Corps Warns of Recreation Danger At Kerr Lake

HENDERSON — The hot, dry conditions have created problems for Kerr Lake, which is four feet lower than normal. TheArmy Corps of Engineersis telling people to be cautious while they are out at the lake.

Some swimming areas are now beds of shallow water, with rocks and tree tops sticking up.

Corps officials say they cannot re-mark the channels or they would be doing it constantly. They urge swimmers and boaters to use caution.

There have been no reports of injuries so far.

Falls Lake is also down, more than two feet total. Jordan Lake is about two feet lower than normal.
