EASTOVER — It appears a long night on the road may have caught up with a trucker driving through Cumberland County.
State troopers say the driver of an 18-wheeler fell asleep at the wheel.
The rig veered off the road in the northbound lane of Highway 301--took out the guardrail, then flipped over the embankment.
No one was injured; the driver refused treatment. An estimated $18,000 of damage was done to the 18-wheeler.
Traffic was not affected in any way.
It took three wreckers to pull the rig out of the ditch.
