Campus Alert Issued At N.C. State

RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina State campus police have issued an alert in connection with an incident on Friday.

Campus police say a student was exiting the Reynolds Coliseum tunnel headed to his residence hall room when a man sitting on a bench with a cell phone asked the student for directions.

When the student approached him, a second male approached him with a gun and demanded the student's wallet.

Campus police say the man with the gun and the man with the cell phone left together headed toward Cates Avenue. No one was injured in the incident.

Police have released a description of the two men. The man with the gun is described as being a black male in his mid-20s, measuring 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He is described as clean-shaved with dark cap, dark baggy sweatpants and black sweatshirt. The man with the cell phone is described as being a black male in his mid-20s, measuring 5 feet 10 inches with medium build.
