Gearing Up for Special Olympics

Posted Updated

DURHAM — Special Olympics athletes for this summer's world games are getting their chance to strike a pose.

The "volunteer gear" of the 1999 Special Olympics World Summer Games was unveiled today in Durham.

Former NFL great Joe Montana and some athletes were on hand to model the Hanes fashion wear. Miss USA, Kimberly Presser, was the emcee for today's event.

More than 35,000 volunteers will wear the official gear at the world's largest sporting event this summer.
