SMITHFIELD — The majority leader of the N.C. House of Representatives is ready to throw his hat into the governor's race.
Leo Daughtry is expected to kick off his campaign with a rally in Smithfield next Monday night.
The Republican has been raising campaign money for nearly a year.
Daughtry is in his fourth term in the state House.
He also has served two terms in the state Senate.
