An alleged domestic dispute turned into a standoff with Chapel Hill police Saturday.

Police say Clifton Farrington Jr., 20, holed up in a home on the corner of Pritchard Avenue and Longview Street.

The standoff, which began at 7:30 a.m., ended around 9:30 p.m. when police went into the apartment and the suspect was not inside. Police then began to search for Farrington.

Neighbors claim the incident started out as a domestic dispute.

Police blocked off both streets and neighbors were evacuated.

The female victim was not hospitalized.
