An expansion issue is causing controversy atPope Air Force Base.

Officials say they must expand their runway either into Spring Lake, Fort Bragg or both.

Fort Bragg officials say it may be too costly to expand in their direction, because buildings may have to be moved.

Last night, Spring Lake residents expressed concern about the noise, safety and property values if the runway is extended their way.

Congress will make the final decision in January.
