RALEIGH — A woman hospitalized for smoke inhalation Monday morning has died, just days after the fire that killed her son.

Kumka Finley, 36, died Wednesday morning around four o'clock, according to the Chatham County Fire Marshal.

Finley's eight-month-old son Tommie died in the fire. Another son, William, 3, escaped unharmed.

Chatham County Fire Marshal Tom Bender says the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. He says he is still interviewing people and searching the scene for clues.
