VASS — A Moore County community is helping a family put the pieces of their lives back together.
On December 27, a home fire killed 7-year-old William Stubbs Junior and 11-year-old Brandon Willoughby.
Their mobile home was destroyed. Two adults made it out safely; the boys were found in a back bedroom.
Friday night the Water To Wine Ministry in Vass held a benefit concert to help the family buy a new home.
"We don't have to get anything in return. It's enough to help somebody when they are in need. I want to be helped if I am in need," said Vass resident John Frisbie.
Local bands put on a concert and Vass residents brought donations for the Stubbs family.
