Brent Road Fire Fought From the Ground, Sky

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — Firefighters are investigating the cause of an intense fire in west Raleigh Sunday night.

Flames shot through the roof of a tri-plex on Brent Road just before 9 p.m. The fire was so intense, firefighters had to attack it from the air.

The blaze caught the attention of hundreds of nearby residents, many of them students at N.C. State University.

"The fire started toward the back of the house where the roof is, and I came out here and it was just blazing," says neighbor Jade Feliciano.

Nine people lived in the building. Everyone was able to get out safely.
