RALEIGH, N.C. — About 200 jobs and more than $50 million will be added to Research Triangle Park over the next five years, as Steifel Reseach Institute relocates its research and development facilities to North Carolina.
The 200 new jobs will be primarily research and development and support positions for the pharmaceutical company, paying an average salary of $71,750 a year plus benefits -- well above the Durham County average of $32,864 without benefits.
The company plans to move into the former Eli Lilly building.
Stiefel Laboratories, SRI's parent company based in Coral Gables, Fla., employs nearly 2,800 people worldwide and specializes in the research, development and manufacture of prescription and over-the-counter skin care products to treat acne, psoriasis and other conditions.
