RALEIGH, N.C. — Using a special tractor, authorities were able to free a blind horse who had wandered in the Haw River.
Alamance County authorities received a call around 8 a.m. about the horse that had gotten out of the barn.
Authorities say the horse wandered to the river and somehow got stuck. At around noon, crews were able to get the horse out of the river.
Animal control officials said the horse, despite being cold and scared, is expected to be OK.
