Wake School Reassignment Meeting Tonight

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — The Wake County school board will be answering lots of questions tonight.

The board has set a public meeting about their new school reassignment plans. Some Raleigh parents, whose children go to Swift Creek Elementary, will be there.

The plan has their kids attending schools in Garner about 9 miles away.

One parent, John Ponte, said the location of their children's school affects how much volunteer time parents can offer. Ponte said he has lunch with his child at Swift Creek, but the extra distance involved will put an end to those visits.

The parents will take their concerns before the school board tonight at Enloe High School. The meeting starts at 7.
