Raleigh Taxi Passenger Shot

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — A taxi ride came to an abrupt end in Raleigh Christmas day.

About 1:30 p.m., a passenger asked his cab driver to pull over to the curb on Lenoir Street.

The driver did so, and a man approached the cab, opened the door, and fired one shot, hitting the passenger. Raleigh police say the passenger is a teen-ager.

They say the wound is not life-threatening, but there is no further information available on his condition.

Officials are trying to reach the victim's next of kin.

There is no known motive nor suspect.

The cab driver is fine but a bit shaken up.
