When Wesley makes a hit the crowd notices, and the way he has been playing hockey has makes his teammates take notice.

"Glen has really stepped up," says Gary Roberts, Hurricanes left wing. "I mean he's played well all season, but it may be more noticeable now that Chiasson and Leschyshyn are out of the lineup. He really has played solid and has thrown some good hits out there."

"He's playing as solid hockey as I have seen him," says Keith Primeau, Hurricanes center. "He's leading by example for our young defensemen."

Last week Wesley notched his 100th carrer goal, a good number for a defenseman. With Carolina's defenses on the back line, he's logging a lot of minutes - 26 one night, 29 another.

Wesley has become a regular on the Canes special teams in addition to normal shifts on the defensive line.

"It feels really comfortable out there on the power play," Wesley said. "I didn't play a whole lot earlier in the season, and when you get out there you feel more and more confident."

Wesley enjoys it all - the big hits, the goals and being noticed.

"A lot of people show emotion and they are loud, its a great feeling," Wesley said.

Wesley says the best feeling comes when the Hurricanes win.
